LionHeart Kids Initiative is the nonprofit extension of this work, grounded in the belief that childhood trauma, when left unaddressed, often reappears later as adult trauma.

This mission is deeply connected to the life and work of Seneca Bankston, whose professional passion for more than 15 years centered on serving children in afterschool spaces. He understood the power of these environments to become more than programs — they can be places of safety, creativity, encouragement, and belonging. Seneca believed children need adults who see their potential, invest in their growth, and create room for them to process pain, build confidence, and feel valued.

Through LionHeart Kids, we engage and support children using the vehicles of:

  • Artistic Expression

  • Emotional Wellness

  • STEM

  • Physical Fitness

Our afterschool programming effort provides children with safe, engaging spaces where healing and growth can begin. These pathways help children build resilience, develop healthy emotional outlets, and experience connection, creativity, and growth. By investing in healing early, we aim to disrupt cycles of pain and help children move toward stronger, healthier futures.
